Make a Switch to an Eco-friendly and Sustainable Paper Packaging

As brands have increasingly aggressive sustainability goals, many are exploringeliminating single-use plastic in their packaging.

 

Sustainability continues to be a key determinant of the purchase intention for most consumers.

Recently, our client from Europe decided to switch their packaging into sustainable packaging.

 

So we suggested changing the packaging to kraft paper corrugated cardboard box as the eco-friendly packaging.

CHALLENGE: How to Fix the Product Well with a Paper Inlay?

With the requirement from our client, we encountered some challenges with using paper inlay to fix and protect the product.

 

Since this is a fragile glass massage ball roller, we have chosen eco-friendly and sturdy kraft paper corrugated cardboard as the sustainable packaging material.

 

Considering the potential various problems during transportation, we decided to use the customized paper die-cut to achieve the effect of cushioning and shock absorption.

 

After our continuous tests of the cushioning capacity and product fixing capacity of the inlay, we finally changed it to a paper inlay that is easy to assemble, sustainable, and has a good cushioning and fixing capacity.

PROCESS: What Did We Do?

 

What changes have we made to the original packaging into sustainable paper packaging:

1. Plastic to paper -

   The original inlay was 100% plastic blister, but now we make it sustainable and eco-friendly. The plastic blister was replaced with the kraft paper corrugated cardboard inlay.

2. Improvement of inlay design -

   We fix the product with the paper die-cut. There is no need to fasten the product by using single-use plastic cable ties, and the protection is so good that the product will not get damaged during transportation. The improvement of the paper inlay design is an eco-friendly way to fix the product, and it can efficiently reduce the use of plastic cable ties.

3.  The design of the euro hole -

   Kraft paper corrugated cardboard has good tear resistance, so even if the product is heavy, there are no worries about tearing. And the kraft paper corrugated cardboard box with euro holes can be hung or placed on shelves.

    

4. Sustainable paper packaging without gluing -

   The kraft paper corrugated cardboard box is completely free of glue. The die-cut of the sides and have the flaps folded and fixed at the bottom part. The folding process of the kraft paper corrugated cardboard box is easy and the flaps could stay stable without gluing. The packaging without glue is so eco-friendly that the kraft paper corrugated cardboard box can be directly recycled.

Nowadays, consumers consider the sustainability of a product's packaging before making a purchase.

 

It’s getting significantly more evident that the majority will refrain from or hesitate to buy a product that they regard as being harmful to the environment.

 

We hope that through the change of the

as an eco-friendly packaging, the use of plastic can be reduced so that the product with the packaging of kraft paper corrugated cardboard box can stand out among many products and improve the willingness of consumers to purchase.
